PreCentral was able to get their hands on a leaked Line Up & Release Date document from a major U.S. retailer that points to a March 27th launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook starting with a $499 price tag. The BlackBerry PlayBook was officially announced back in September of 2010, but, no official release date, other than Q1 2011 has been announced.
Fairly credible rumors pointing to an April 10th release of the BlackBerry PlayBook have been floating around for several weeks. April 10th, however, is in Q2 and Research in Motion exec Stephen Bates reiterated that the BlackBerry PlayBook would ship in Q1 after those rumors surfaced. The March27th launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook falls right in line with what RIM has been saying all along, however, we are going to play it on the safe side and say that the BlackBerry PlayBook will launch in the coming weeks.
